The Waiting Game - Devlog 1 - The second draft of the script needs feedback!

 Hi, It's Tommy again, I wasn't planning on revealing my project this soon but I sort of need a page to link to for when I ever find the right people to give my second draft of my first Visual Novel game's script. I've just finished what I would call a second draft of my game's script.

So am linking to my second draft that I want feedback for and reverse outline I made from the original draft to help find my story beats, heard about this from a Reddit comment.

I guess for the post I am going to explain what this game is about.

It's a short oneshot story featuring two (three if you count the off screen character)  of  my Original Characters in waiting room having a talk with each other. one wants to leave but the other doesn't.

It's not something am taking super seriously. This is meant to be a simple game to hopefully break my curse of never finishing anything. (aside drawings and blog posts I guess) As a result I purposefully kept it stupid simple as to not possibly fail like my many other projects. So no pick your own choices or overall game play complexity. This is strictly a Kinetic Visual Novel.

It's more of a character study but for which character I don't know. I plan to use the popular and free to use RenPy Visual Novel game engine. but I haven't even touched this engine yet as I need a script to actually do something with the engine. A story heavy game kinda needs story content to be a game after all.

 That's not even mentioning the Art assets I will have need to make and securing the music and sfx from other sources will also be a thing I need done.

I don't expect a lot from this game "The Waiting Game" but hopefully this will be the project that breaks my cycle of quitting before finishing a project. Anyways I hope you guys leave feedback on the second draft because I honestly don't know what else to do with it for the possible third and final drafts.

A short ramble about my history of Game Dev Projects and RPG Maker series

 Hello again! it's Tommy. RPG Maker Festival 2026 appeared in my Steam News feed and sparked my interest in game development again. Of course I would immediately write a short visual novel script for a completely DIFFERENT game engine entirely called RenPy. The reasons I chose to use that engine are the following. 1. I NEVER finished ANY of my past game dev projects. I got pretty close to something complete once but I long sense gave up on that one. So I decided to make a stance here. I HAVE TO FINISH A GAME before I can try harder projects. But on the topic of my Visual Novel game it's actually going pretty well. The First TTRPG post on the blog!

 Hello again, this is Tommy. I just recently got a copy of the TTRPG Ironsworn:Starforged.  It's a paid overhaul/Sci-fi reskin of the free solo RPG Ironsworn. I figured while I prep the game for play I go over some of the ideas I have for TTRPGs on this blog, plus it's still here so I should get into the habit of updating anyways. Anyways I took a break from the blog after the last time I played Sims 3, tried out Sims 4 base game to see if I would like it better, still unsure about that game but that's not the point. I have lots of ideas for projects and hobbies I just don't have a lot of focus or motivation to finish them usually, a bad habit I still struggle with to this day.  Back on topic I want to try doing some TTRPG stuff on this blog, similar to what I used to do on the old Imperfect Game blog.
